#opensource can be insecure. #opensource can theoretically have unknown vulnerabilities. The good point is, that opensource can be verified. It is easy to verify if an application only does, what it is supposed to do. Proprietary software has nothing to prove, there are no harmful usecases (as spying and data theft) implemented besides the primary purpose. I feel this is something all people should be aware of. Once this logic is general knowledge, our privacy crisis can phase out.
