Finished Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma's main story. The ending starts to drag a bit when you're stuck bouncing between islands that all feel pretty similar, fighting the same bosses again. It gets repetitive, but thankfully that part doesn't last too long. The story mostly recovers by the end, though the final boss is a bit of a letdown and the soundtrack doesn't do those last few scenes any favors.
Story-wise, I won’t say too much since plot has never been Rune Factory’s strong suit. While I did care about a few characters, the story itself is pretty predictable and feels shallow in some spots. It’s really the characters that carry it. The combat is fun enough to keep things moving, but I didn’t find much depth in it, and I’m not sure there is any. The main plot issue also gets solved way too quickly, and the villain is forgiven in just a few lines, which felt weird and kind of rushed.
Even with those flaws, this is easily my favorite Rune Factory game so far. It has the best overall soundtrack (even if the ending tracks are forgettable), the strongest cast of characters and romance options, and the best gameplay the series has had to date. I used to give that title to RF: Oceans, with RF5 coming close, but this one takes the lead. I'm still a bit on the fence about the farming changes, but I think it was time for the series to evolve, and I welcome the new direction. That said, some quality-of-life tweaks are needed, like being able to micromanage your workers more easily.
Also, shoutout to the protagonists, who are hands down the best in the series. I played as Kaguya and Yui Ishikawa’s voice work was an absolute joy to listen to. I’ll definitely do another run as Subaru just to romance her.
Still need to dive into the post-game, but overall this one's a solid 7/10. Good, fun, and something I’ll likely return to. Definitely worth grabbing on Steam, especially if it gets a good discount.

What the FUCK?! Ubiplops (Ubisoft) - Creators of the Assassin's Creed Franchise among many others. They have been clearly fucked in the head for a while now... I remember the Director or something at the company telling the press/gamers that we (the public) will never own our games, we will rent them.
Sounds kinda like "you will own nothing, and you will be happy."
DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY BY ANY MEANS!
to chime in I just found this on a reddit thread...

I'm going to include this quote/reply from TalbotFarwell ...
"They want to demoralize us, they want us to give up our hobbies. They want us to have no “safe space”, no form of escapism from the drudgery of daily life and the inane droning on-and-on 24/7 by the mainstream media about the election cycle, no wish fulfillment or power fantasies that might inspire us to become more than we currently are.
To the globalist progressives pushing ESG and DEI, it’s the cultural equivalent of dropping Agent Orange on Vietnam: a complete defoliation campaign meant to deny the enemy (us) any kind of concealment or cover. In doing so they’ve poisoned landscape for future gamers, both depriving them of the priceless experiences we had as kids and teenagers with quality video games, movies, and books, while also instilling future generations with their twisted worldview from a very young age."
Oh yeah also, sorry ALL men.. do not apply. You won't get the job because who the fuck knows. Demoralization? Fucking kick in the nuts for fun?

The Long Dark is going to finally release the next installment in the survival mode
well, it's interesting, but i want more story from Wintermute
if you play this game this is the new stuff for the survival mode:
https://youtu.be/I9Jy7KAvDus
haha, it's pretty much canadian Metro 2033 without the nosalises and dark ones
well, i paid for it i guess, and it looks interesting so in a few days i'll have a reason to play boring sandbox mode in some kind of chemical apocalypse zone lol
there is some fun areas in the mines that you have to go through in Wintermute but i'm waiting for them to finally release the next episode... after defeating the psycho mf who is amusingly played by the gruff voiced Alex Toufexis, the voice of Adam in Deus Ex last two games
one thing i do apprecaiate about this game is it runs native on linux, same as the newest Deus Ex, and all of the Tomb Raider games
honestly, i've checked out some other games out there that don't run on linux, stuff that is windows or ps only but really the quality is mostly native linux available, and the rest is meh
