Is Amethyst the only Nostr client that can undo likes and reposts? If so, why?
But the client needs to support the feature in order to request it.

the damus web client (eventually became an app called yosup) also had this. wasn't that hard to implement.
I tested it and events that were un-reposted using Amethyst were also no longer shown on other clients.
It should probably be a standard feature, sometimes you just want to repost something temporarily, or you want to remove a reaction.
We wonder why normies aren’t flocking here and one of the reasons is all the missing features that are standard practice everywhere else.
Bout time!
This is how Nostur works. You can preview before posting, and undo publishing for a few seconds afterward.

You can undo likes on coracle
And you still don’t even do reposts, right?

Yes you can broadcast notes in coracle. It is the same as repost.
It’s been a while since I’ve used it.
It is defnitly worthwhile to use it. In my phone #coracle just renders wrong and often is not able to display the text I am typing.
Ah, didn’t know that. I haven’t used it much since it doesn’t support zaps.
If you never signed in with your private key and you’re using Amber, you shouldn’t even see the menu item “Backup Keys” in the first place.

Ok thank you for clarifying. I am confused. What would be the difference of republish and repost? Means republish, that I am not signing it? Just recently I was asked why I never repost. Maby this is why then 🥲
Good to know. Since in #amethyst Broadcast means to repost the note. Would defnitly be cool, when reposting a note would be possible in Coracle as well. Otherwise I can only quote it in order to publish a note to people who follow me. (Like to say: look this note I like a lot)

Correct, IMO reposts are a social antipattern. I don't know why Amethyst would call reposts broadcasts, but that's neither here nor there
Why are reposts a social antipattern for you? I feel it is one of the core principles of sharing information, which is a basic humane attitude. Or do you mean to always rather quote? So to say, eighter someone invests time to explain the personal take on a note, or it is not possible to understand in what context I present the note to someone? Since I got outraged for this already on nostr. At the same time, sometimes I feel like just sharing a note as is. Like a great meme. Whoever sees this note will still see, that it was brought forward from me in the end. So they know to block me when the content is too noisy.
The idea is that it's a low-effort way to shove some content in front of other people's eyeballs. Sharing stuff is often done unreflectively, and without investigation. The velocity of content is something the interet amplifies way past natural scale. This is good in some ways, but introducing friction restores a natural balance. Encouraging a comment with a repost is a way of introducing this friction.
