Money doesn't have any value if you don't spend it.

maybe that is true for fiat money, otherwise Bitcoin is the storage of value that you can "spend" (I prefer trade) whenever you want. Storing the value gives it value that you trade when spent. Even then, the value is not lost it is traded.
