There is something special about the first edible bit on a new plant when you are #gardening and doubly so when it comes from the #permaculture perrenials. Here is the first Blackberry and first fruit at all from the berry patch we planted last year.

I had blackberries at my old place. Each year I’d get tired of it and cut most away but it would grow right back in the same size it used to be. I think it’s still growing there today.
I was told that once I planted blackberries and raspberries on my property I would never not have them somewhere. Fine by me. These were 1ft tall over winter and are growing straight up out of my trellis to 8ft already.
It isn't visually obvious like tomatoes but wild and home grown are way better than store bought.
