Genuine question and please don’t beat my ass. How far can Nostr go? Like being built on? What I mean is … Is Nostr a replacement for centralized social media? Or can you build more stuff on it? Like it feels like I am using a working Twitter replacement. But what about other apps and sites like… eBay? Or DoorDash? Hell, Zillow? Like I know there are limits to the service side of things, but is Nostr just solving social media and communication? Or is it the tipping domino for our everyday lives and other services we use?
I may not be making any sense I’m sorry. Hard to form words for the thought spaghetti in my head right now.

Sounds like marketplace is coming. It's a communications network right? So much can be built on the back of that

Social media only feels like a dead end, it has to produce more than just social I think. I agree with you.

Nostr is uncensorable decentralized communication. Many different things will be build with this protocol. We are so early it is hard to imagine what these things could be.
What kind of market place? eBay? Offer up?

Does this answer your question? #[2] So yea, I reckon it's the tipping point, though it will likely be a bumpy road ahead, same as with bitcoin. Bless us all and please may ppl get on board fast!

Some folks with ideas building.
Idk. I'd want to have my online store integrated if possible

I had a similar thought. I'm not sure of the specifics, yet.

Need a alternative to Facebook marketplace.

I think a big untapped potential is using Nostr as an Evernote/Google Keep replacement. Nostr has huge potential to be much more than just a social network.

Super curious about this – when you say integrated, what do you mean?
You can already add a URL to your profile. I'm not sure I'm following... Basically, I'm trying to think through why linking people from your profile to a Shopify store (enabled with lightning payments) wouldn't be just as good for your use-case.
Because having to leave here is another point of friction. My use case isn't the base case tho. Selling Wine adds a ton of complexity
Yeah, that makes sense. I'm thinking of a hybrid situation where you'd have your product listings as native Nostr notes, but you might also have a store-front that would list all those together. Zaps on the notes would be payment for the product... (half-formed 4am thought)
I see where you're going with it. I'm picturing it as a tab on my profile. Def could link to products there in specific notes with a specified zap amount

how does IG integrate with their small businesses? think they’re doing pretty well with shopify I’m legitimately asking cuz I don’t have an IG lol
I'm not sure either. Don't think I've ever bought something ON Instagram. The few times I've bought anything there was via an ad that linked out to another site.
Given your profile is just a note itself (like all the others) I think that "your profile" will show up (synced) in lots of different apps but there will be different features or focuses depending on what the app is all about.
I was thinking of it as a tab too. Also products from different profiles could all be listed together for people to discover (based on follows).
I guess it all depends on the client right? Not all clients would likely support the storefront/shopping use case.
