We need to move apps from app stores to sovereign web-based apps. Your browser can do pretty much anything an app can do these days. Apps are almost completely obsolete. Then, we need mesh technology so we don't need cell towers but just have a network of people passing encrypted notes like relays. Check out https://gotenna.com/ for inspiration; these devices are cool but kinda a pain to use. If this tech was simply built into your phone, we wouldn't need cellular companies anymore as long as you were in a populated area.
Just look at all the BS #[3] has had to put up with getting into the Apple store. In his case, Damus will help mass adoption of Nostr so it's worth the effort, but sheesh what a pain. You can sidestep all deplatforming concerns by skipping app stores altogether.

This is why I'm loving nostr....pure knowledge and sharing of information. Thanks, more reading for me. One of the things that also jolted me into thinking about this was the talk about Damus having to get on the app store. Why couldn't they just have a dmg that could be downloaded by anybody? I'm probably showing my lack of knowledge about Apple here.
Isn't it possible to just have the app for download on the Damus website like they did with the beta?
