Amethyst's todo list: - Implement Communities (and find a place in the UI) - Finish the Live Stream implementation (and find a good place in the UI) - Implement Marketplaces (and find a good place in the UI) - Implement a local database (and repurpose the app as a real Nostr storage system for your content) - Implement private group chats (we have to choose a good protocol first) Not in any particular order.
It could be. But as one of the main apps in the ecosystem, our role is to support as much of the other micro app's expertise as we can, hopefully, given them users as we go.

I am on the fence about #Amethyst implementing communities and marketplaces. I'm worried this could turn into a nightmare, in terms of UI and UX... We don't want to be the Astalavista of Nostr.... What do you think?
Everything on Nostr. You can do bookmarks as lists (if there are not more than 1000 events) or migrate to a private community if > 1000 events. Either way, never store anything offline. I want to save draft posts as well. That's going to be a replaceable event too. So.. everything in Nostr. :)
Fear of breaking Amethyst should not be a factor in moving forward. For starters, people can always go back in APK versions to the last app version they liked.
Just a minor inconvenience.
BTW, where are our private lists? :)
Ué, vc não precisa da app para isso. Basta instalar um relay mesmo. Vc só precisa ter uma boa conexão. Caso contrário ninguém vai gostar de esperar para fazer o download do seu conteúdo para o celular deles.
Some people see this and think they won't need specialized clients. They are wrong. Amethyst, as a communities-supporting app, will never be as good as a dedicated communities app. It will never be as good as a dedicated live streaming app. Amethyst will never replace the Highlighter app or a conference app, or a calendar app or a lists app. Amethyst's role is to support everything in Nostr in order to help each use case grow faster. The whole point of this is to rebuild big tech in a decentralized protocol. And we will do it case by case. Product velocity is key. nostr:nevent1qqs8h5uh664hy55w67a8ah5wajx3snn4f3n54uvm2t2lwv33hkef0hgprfmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68y6trdpjhxtn0wfnsygzxpsj7dqha57pjk5k37gkn6g4nzakewtmqmnwryyhd3jfwlpgxtspsgqqqqqqsdal74l
On a related note, what do you think of a global settings page for translation, custom zap amounts, custom emojis, security filters etc?

by private lists you mean encrypted lists?
yep. On amethyst if you change the feed's preference from All Follows to a list, it does include the encrypted part of the list as well. People can follow folks without anyone else seeing it.
A long time requested, but we never had the time to code it well. Help is welcome.
ah, you can create those lists in highlighter, any combination of regular tags and encrypted-in-content tags https://nostr.build/p/nb11522.mov

An “everything” app will probably be really hard to maintain, both code-wise and UX-wise (too many options/bloated UIs, etc).
No, you can use it with a nostr extension like getalby too

💯
Use a different app to make them: highlighter.com
