"How does a pottery relay control what is incoming? " You haven't grokked the Nostr way. Relays aren't to do any thinking. My proposal is that clients should have always *made it easy* for users to setup and switch between Relay Groups while posting an individual Note. This gives them a chance of complying with my wss://pleasenoanime.xxx Relay by deselecting my Relay when they post their anime porn. Just like you would not select your pottery-related relay except when it's a pottery-related post. If it were easy. Then relays suddenly have *gasp* an incentive to be public and do the heavy lifting for the Nostr community, in exchange for building their niche's community. Then the top relays might not all end up being amazingly fast and stable NSA and other data harvesters. The only non-altruistic incentive you want in place. Remember, there's no Nostr token to incentivize hosting relay nodes. It's all risk and cost and downside, except if you are hungry for data. And lots of shady actors are hungry for data. I just don't want them to be the only incentivized relays, or it's inevitable the situation we end up in. Q :What incentive do you propose to fire up a relay and host the global firehose of everyone's anime porn and worse on a server with your name on the bill?
