#privacy Yesterday I started participating in a study about #browserfingerprinting where I can test several browsers with various configurations. And it shows, if it can link my session to an older one. The only linkable Browser until now (2 tests with same browser) has been #vanadium browser. I test on the following... ...on Windows 10: - Edge as my Company installed it - Chrome as my company installed it with uBlockOrigin in hard mode - Firefox with uBlock in hard mode - Firefox with Arkenfox and uBlock in Medium mode ...on my GrapheneOS Pixel: - Firefox focus without JS - Firefox nightly with uBlock in medium mode - Vanadium - Brave
Never tried it. But can be a good privacy browser I assume. I mostrly favore projects more close to the root, since I feel they are more up to date and more sustainable.

I have just started yesterday. Edge also has been recogniced I see. And chrome probably is protected, since I still use uBlock with it. But will see, if chrome vanilla is also recognised.
It is part of the game. But a Browser that produces the same Fingerprint today and tomorrow has no working fingerprint protection. Clearly there is also opportunity to fit within a crowd. But I prefer to have a browser, that has changing fingerprint every time. Like this a tracker can not identify if it is one or several users as well. Especially for small userbase. Only with a big userbase one can fit into a crowd.

Update: Several fail. Including Brave failed me. Seems, that browser fingerprinting is a difficult task for every browser. Best chance to ditch it is probably disabeling JS. When not completely then at least as aggressive as possible for one. uBlock medium mode works on most webpages without problem, while blocking all 3rd party scripts. Like this at least only first party has the ability to track me. And through the arkenfox or Mullvad this fingerprint should also not deliver many unique results. This seems the finding after 5 days into the test.
