The place we failed as Bitcoiners is merchant adoption. I cannot even describe how bad it is, I have all these fancy non-custodial wallets I use and I even contribute to one but I can't use them to spend anywhere because nobody wants/accepts Bitcoin.
That isn't a valid example. El Salvador is forced to accept Bitcoin because it's legal tender.

it is not a technology issue but a policy issue. go to El salvador to experience it..! we have hooked more than 100 merchants to accept lightning.
El Salvador isn't a valid example anymore. A lot of merchants there are forced to accept Bitcoin.

Move to El Salvador 😀
I was just supporting that the bitcoiners did not fail...! The feeling of using your node sitting at your home to pay for stuff is super cool..!

We can’t significantly force a once-in-5000-years phenomenon. Necessity is the mother of adoption, and it is a function of the evolution of fiat. Things are heading in the right direction and they’re likely to accelerate in the not to far future

Did you ever onboard any merchant? If no, then the failure is on you also.
I said "we". I'm part of it.
