ooh, i just did my first submarine swap via https://boltz.exchange - it was a lot easier and faster than i expected... well, maybe lucky that a block confirmation came 5 minutes after i initiated it but still made an invoice in my alby hub, then made the swap, it gives me the address, i withdraw some on-chain from the hub to pay it, and then wait for confirmation and wham, bam, thankyou ma'am
except i'm using alby hub which i use with alby go... and the times i need to go from onchain to lightning and vice versa are pretty rare, really, like once a month i might want to put a few onchains into my channels and that's that i zap my sats to my bitcoin neobank whenever i need to, every few days maybe i bump some new amount, my bank is great though, it only exchanges my sats for fiat when i spend it, or if i need to pay my rent, which i do via SEPA so that also requires an exchange first because they haven't integrated on-demand exchange to cover that
btw your profile image gif is horrible, epilepsy inducing nastiness
it's evil, i almost want to mute you for it
lol, if i could just tell my client to stop playing the animation that would be enough
seems like i have achieved this with a "block element" extension
also, not really your fault but people who have epilepsy can't "just ignore it" when it triggers them i have PTSD and attentiongrabber techniques like flickering and flashing things make me absolutely furious and want to smash my computer and this is why i hate nostr client devs all so much, they make "reasonable" defaults for people who are normal, and last i checked normal is not the general population on this protocol
flickering gif profile image is evil, i'm calling it
if you changed it i would not be muting you

Breez is building their own version, think a simpler Aqua but with a Lightning address. Hopefully available soon… 👀 https://i.nostr.build/NQjLQKZQ8Uaa0j3p.jpg
No, because combining all of these things into one simple package is really hard to do! Even these new wallets built on Breez SDK still have some limitations. There’s no channel management for the user, which is a huge advantage, but because they use Boltz and settle on the Liquid sidechain, the minimum amount that can be transacted is 1000 sats, and there is a settlement delay of about a minute.
not magical, expensive #xapo https://www.xapobank.com idk what their trial conditions are but you pay $1000/year for an account now i paid mine, so i have sunk cost fallacy no, the service is great, name one other neobank that has lightning in and out... plus the customer service is helpful and they let me KYC just on the strength of my phone's GPS coordinates which was handy because i had no paper to prove anything more than that anyway i do now, but i'm not changing it and they don't ask, so there's that also
seriously, i have tried wirex twice, and binance once, and both rugged me xapo have not rugged me in like, 18 months i think it is now been rock solid like the gibraltar their office is registered in
LNURL/LUD16 addresses only work when there’s an active web server providing the functionality. Its job is to communicate between the sending and receiving node to create and hand off the invoice. It all happens behind the scenes so the receiver doesn’t have to do anything to get paid except share their address.
