Just watched Dead Ringers (1988) directed by David Cronenberg. His seventh movie. First movie of the psychological/existential phase. Itโs about twin gynecologists who spiral into madness. Terrible movie. Donโt watch it ๐ 3/10 #nodereviews
Pretty much yes ๐ญ๐ญ๐คฃ
One good scene at 49mins. The dream sequence. Rest is trash ๐
What are your thoughts on this one?
The dream sequence where they are attached by the abdomen and one of them starts eating the attachment ๐
I was waiting for Cronenbergโs signature action/suspense/thrills. Nothing happened. Watched a plastic surgeon whine and cry lmao
Twins with gay vibes is uncomfortable. Hard to believe Cronenberg made such a turd
Probably the same critics who say Marvel movies deserve 95%+ ratings ๐
More turds coming up? Oh no
History of Violence and Eastern promises though. Both in his third phase of crime and crame. Excellent stuff. Even Crimes of the future. Maybe his second wave of existential movies is mostly terrible? ๐
*crime and drama
I forget. I think I saw once ๐
It got a lot of praise from the critics
Not the best sign ๐
Directors who stay consistently good throughout their career are rare ๐ He tricked me with all the horror movies at first lol. Wasnโt expecting something that bad
Gotta power through his gay phase ๐ (sounds weird)
Naked lunch? The next one
๐๐๐
Existenz sounds good. Crash could be good. Could be weird. ๐ฌ
He went mainstream ๐
