Try using good relays like web of trust ones: wot.relayted.de and or premium relays like aegis.relayted.de Helped me improve my experience here.

There are plenty. We can #asknostr for assistance here. 😎 Make sure you still have a relay that you saves your notes. Relays is a pretty much individual thing. You could lookup which relays your follows use. And depending on the client used you can maybe set if it is an upstream or downstream relay. At least amethyst allows this.
