#JBOD #RAID0 #LVM Quick Tip #techstr #HDD #SSD (no backup/redundancy in any) Common / Advantage *Cheap + Small Size* HDDs/SSDs can be clustered for non-critical large data only vs Individual disk disadvantage β super high cost- single of failure β cannot expand captjackβs pick LVM β easier to manage disks add/replace diff size sata hdd-s

#[2] #[3] most likely LVM was enabled at 1st in original node hardware box - unless it was VM so 1. backup all key/seed/config data outside DISK 2. add additional disc - rebuilt again from scratch unless u temporary 1TB storage to copy data out n mave back to after LVM2 disks are built 3. u need linux cli knowledge / search tools many free tips in or outside nostr
DIY π«΅ can u r own cloud π«΅ intranet/internet #decentralize #distribute #resilient cloud means someone else's computer
it is just an idea - anyone choose any brand or even unbranded - cheap/expensive all upto DIYer choose/decide - end how fast depends no many factors
my main point - many of us have already many stuff or dont even 70% of service - just even know/use it - it can serve perfect backup or main as image/video library
sure good idea - also check specs of interface SATA3 etc - so u can easily expand disk by disk #[5]
yeah COST+PURPOSE+important will help decide which to pick SSD/ NVMe e,g, recently picked 40gb nvme sticks as "dirt price" since 1TB 2TB new ones coming factory need dispose old ones fast.
also Piwigo - image library (bit hard to setup) Gerbera - streaming (supereasy)
5400 n 7200 good watching streaming video in LAN / storing movies
