I want a file explorer that can overlay custom metadata and relational links on top of any existing file structure. I want it to be able to display that metadata in customizable templates and and key/value fields and arbitrary tags and collections grouping capabilities. I want search this overlay metadata #database with ease using positive and negative matches and I want to be able to sync files on one computer to another using #IPSF. I want a cascading access control system built in from the ground up and hash based directory scanning for speed and scaling. In keeping with the nautical theme on open source file browsers, I shall call this application "#Marlin". Think #Anytype or #Notion but on your computer with the files and document formats that you already use. I want this flexible system to basically be a collaborative teamwork environment with any kind of CRM, Project Tracker, or jacketed annotation system that you can think of built right into and overlaid on top of the actual files you create. Not a separate web UI or disconnected knowledge base.

I often struggle with keeping myself organized, especially in times like these. I'm striking out on my own. I lost my job (for very dumb reasons) and so instead of putting mine and my families' financial futures into the hands of yet another inadequate HR department, I figured I would fall back on my old skillsets. - Content creation - Photography - Writing - Website building - AI experimentation - Etc. With all of this going on I happened to stumble on a tool that I had not heard of before. Notion. I'm still not exactly sure what it is for in the base form, but I found a template called the Mind Matrix that is really helping me get my goals, projects and notes in order. So far I've entered a bunch of information and cleared my desk of almost all of the loose notes I had been taking. I'll probably still take handwritten notes, but this will really help me keep it all straight and keep my desk clean. In the long term, it should help me get to the meaningful work quicker. I can track my projects, habits, notes, goals and events. This isn't a sponsored post or anything, I'm just really excited that I found something that can help me keep all of this in order. Oh, and GM!!! #grownostr #plebchain #coffeechain #notion #gm

This would work well with #notion. Minimalistic and beautiful design 👍
