I use the beads and you can get a very accurate and consistent seal from them. It's easy to mix and combine colors and if you've got multiple spoons you can keep things from getting too out of hand by way of color mixes. A lot of people use the glue gun for the speed and ease of use. With the beads you have to melt each seal seperately, but with the glue gun you can do one after the other quickly because the gun is melting the wax, not a candle or lighter. You'll have to eyeball the glue gun a bit closer to get consistent seals where the beads allow for that consistent size. In a clean spoon it's about 4-5 beads depending on the size of your stamp and after that it's 3-4 because of the existing wax in the spoon. I've also used the wax sticks with the wick in them (essentially a candle) as well and unless you're going for speed and don't mind a messier seal, I wouldn't recommend going that route. I was really struggling with how I wanted to top off these pen prizes. At first I was thinking of doing a sticker with some branding on it but that felt tacky. This isn't about me. Then I was thinking of maybe doing a pangram or saying. Maybe a piece of scripture? Enh. It's closer but still didn't feel right. But then it came to me. Why not just do a wax seal? It seemed like a good idea to be able to add some additional elements to my letter seals so I picked up some different ribbons. I've only got a few for now, but I'll certainly get more. The main concern I have is having the seal look nice and coherent despite the additional material underneath. I may need to do a few practice seals.
