Watched Fando y Lis (1968), directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky. It’s his feature film debut. Fando and his partially paralyzed girlfriend Lis travel through a post apocalyptic desert. They’re trying to find the legendary city of Tar: they think it will cure Lis and make them happy forever. They encounter really weird groups of people along the way, sometimes making them question their sanity. The movie explores themes of surrealism, eroticism and abuse. Most of the movie is hard to get. Lots of cultural references I imagine. Very odd. You can tell it’s Jodorowsky’s first movie. He tried to make dream sequences but it didn’t work out that well. I also didn’t like that Fando was really abusive throughout the movie. The music was excellent and the sceneries were beautiful as well. 4/10 #nodereviews
