There will be premium #Alexandria services only available from this relay, but the app itself will remain FOSS and you will be able to adjust the relays. wss://thecitadel.nostr1.com is the OtherStuff relay, where we will be storing the books, and we're going to try to keep that "free", for as long as possible. May eventually have to charge for uploads, if it gets out too spammy or gross. We'll see.
We're splitting the library (on thecitadel relay), with all of the book events on it, from the social, support, and analytical/AI aspects (on theforest relay). Also, your whitelisted npub is your login to further servers and databases. We're a whole group of sociable people who are active on Nostr, so theforest will always be "alive", and looking at Alexandria while connected to theforest will make Alexandria "come alive". If you only want to look at a book on your tablet or cellphone, then you can do that, even without theforest membership.
And, as always with FOSS, everyone is free to fork Alexandria and self-host it.
