Embrace the tradition, of #FOSS developers getting funded directly by their end users, and those users being actively involved in the development process. This is one reason why FOSS has developed such a good reputation: the anti-fragility development environment of slaving away for months or years on tips and 🫂. It's a lesson in humility, perseverance, efficiency, responsiveness, camaraderie. It's a lesson in knowing your audience and delivering what they want because you care about them. It's art. Most artists never get rich, off of their labor, but their efforts make the world a better place.
