Thinking about rebasing my amethyst fork to do the shotgun images approach again.. I like uploading as NIP94 so it shows in the full media browser in amethyst (a killer new feature 🔥), but feels bad knowing it's only Amethyst some other clients show post not found.. I also don't want #clientwars, but I feel like this is bad state of affairs for content creators. The shotgun approach simply adds a url to the message alongside the NIP94 event link. In amethyst it shows as double the images on regular posts, but should look good in the insta-style feed and display one image in other non compatible clients.

Ive been using amethyst less because of this.
I've been using it more and more.. hard not to with all these cool features and it's so fast.. 🤔 the code is super clean and well architected too when you look at how it's built.

How about ability to add own image (self) host like https://github.com/caramelfur/picsur ?
it's pretty hard to stay away especially with all the features but i'd like to use a client it doesn't break visibility for others. When i use norstros or plasma all the reposts and non link based image uploads are broken. Making nostr just a buch of text and "note1" strings. Minorly frustrating at best and makes it confusing IMO for new folks. (Although i guess to be fair most new andriod folks are prolly just gonna use amethyst) Im not a coder but ill take a look at the github.
That would be awesome.. ya I'm not sure why there's not yet support for nostr.build yet either.. I imagine it's not that easy to do this image uploading with the various apis.. I haven't done android dev in a long time so I am not up to speed enough to start doing larger changes or dialogs etc yet.. mostly just one line paratroop in and get out.
There is support for nostr.build in 0.41.0. Is a choose list when hit the add image.

Why? There's no client wars. #Amethyst just added a new functionality that other clients don't support (yet). That happens very often in some other clients too.
