MRI showed a large brain tumor. A main mass and an aggressive spread all down the meninges surrounding the right side of her brain. She's on steroids now to try to reduce the pressure. If it happens to be the right kind of tumor (lymphoma), the steroids might actually help fight it. Won't know if it's making any difference until 2-3 days go by. Have to wait until tonight when the anesthesia wears off to see how well her symptoms are being managed. Will a lucid Kuma come back? There are some thin hopes for some treatment options but it all depends on where we're at in the next few days. We'll explore what makes sense, but based on what the neurologist said, I'm not pinning my hopes on successful treatment. As things stand now: I just hope we get a few good days or weeks with her in okay enough shape. Make the most of the last of our time with her. That has to be enough of a gift, if we're lucky enough to get it. nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzqkcw3kn0m7axvvpcdy9n05skmq695c3ucvlpzxhapaeca4me90z5qythwumn8ghj7ct5d3shxtnwdaehgu3wd3skuep0qyt8wumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgtcprpmhxue69uhkv6tvw3jhytnwdaehgu3wwa5kuef0qqsvh9vecsuvghk4ljlv4gv9y2cnky973a3ldw8cwm250mynehgyv8qrnnuez

I was able to bring nostr:nprofile1qyt8wumn8ghj7ct5d3shxtnwdaehgu3wd3skueqpp3mhxue69uhkyunz9e5k7qpqkumadawgefxjt2c293whsan5sfmdg5tylm0uk39enc6uxxfy5m4sdln07f home yesterday. Way drugged up and still suffering the aftermath of her three seizures and of course the damn brain tumor itself. Right now we're in a multi-day waiting period to see how much or how little of her conscious mind she can recover. She's here physically, but she's mostly a poorly functioning automaton: https://v.nostr.build/XymKbw9eERVUyo9G.mp4 It's both darkly funny and horrible to see how broken her mind is right now: https://v.nostr.build/4fbwNquFgRJRVvPM.mp4 BUT this is still a big improvement from the night before. And the signs of recognition / interactivity are encouraging: https://v.nostr.build/8gzLQVAMD688YETw.mp4 The next few days will be decisive. It was difficult to explain this part without breaking down: https://v.nostr.build/paElBm3bu9EGBmf3.mp4 I had INCREDIBLE anxiety yesterday before we picked her up. I know her time is limited no matter what and tried hard to keep my hopes guarded and realistic. But I couldn't help it: just please let her be herself again -- seeing us, responding to us, loving us -- even if only for a day. The anxiety came on so savagely because I knew I'd be finding out soon that we might not even be that lucky. The robot dog, the automaton that's only vaguely aware of us might be as far as her recovery can go. But the moment the vets brought her into the room to release her to us, she made eye contact and trotted directly for me. She was even hazier and more broken than she is in these videos (recorded a few hours later), but at least there was a glimmer of a chance. And this morning we had another breakthrough: She wagged her tail when my niece came to greet her. ❤️❤️❤️ Whatever progress we get in the next 2-3 days is likely to be it. Hoping hoping hoping. And then it's the unknown of how long any of it will last. Whole family had a good talk and a good cry last night. Whatever we get, we have to absolutely cherish. nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzqkcw3kn0m7axvvpcdy9n05skmq695c3ucvlpzxhapaeca4me90z5qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3wamnwvaz7tmpw3kxzuewdehhxarj9ekxzmny9uq3vamnwvaz7tm9v3jkutnwdaehgu3wd3skuep0qqs0gw44u5qyugh3mnwanry78kttg86h84n4n2glyw9lgaxa4w0jq5c5wza9d

do you have any good breadcrumbs for someone with cramping and muscle strength issues? i have fought it back a long way by cutting out most sugar and especially maltodextrin and artificial sweeteners are massively triggering - so my conclusion is that this is kidney related, and the pain down my bottom left and right back sorta point there too i've beaten it back a lot by elimination but i'm still unable to progress with any kind of strength building exercise, and often have problems with cramps restricting my movement and activity i know it's kidney stuff, and most likely not related to vaccines, but i haven't found anything that has really reversed this so far, just beaten it back to the point where i don't feel totally disabled
cramping is actually from insufficient CO2 i think, if anything muscles pull in the closing step, and cramping is when they can't release, it's literaly mechanically like a zip getting jammed closed i've had limited success, alone, just by supplementing boron, which decreases Ca/Mg/D3 elimination, as well as, as i mentioned, cutting out simple sugars and modified starches and artificial sweeteners dehydration is some part of it as well i guess i'm in some nasty uncommon kind of disease i am pretty sure cannabis dramatically reduces some of teh muscle stuff but this stuff has gone past a point, i think, because it affects my vision too, i don't have good convergence, everything is a bit doubled my aunty gave me a good pointer to look at boron but there is something more thanks for your thoughts and prayers though, i'm glad that you have some solutions that have proved effective for some people and yourself, we gotta reverse engineer the poisons and discover the antidotes
kinda freaks me out that one of the entries in there says tetanus i did not get jabbed! and there is many other causes related to my kidneys but although fixing those i think there is more i forgot i had some DMSO+MgSO4, going to start spraying it on my feet for a while to see if i can get my feet to stop being as spastic and yes, i have greatly reduced this, but it seems to be a general syndrome, with more factors, i have already mostly eliminated about 6 or 7 different things that seem to make it increase in intensity, but there's clearly still some more factors yes, also, potassium, potassium helped too, eating bananas helped (likely related) i think i was getting some good benefits from DMSO and MSM and didn't keep it up so i'm going to try more there, it is possible there is some kind of gak stuck in my extremities that MSM/DMSO help free up, when combined with exercise certainly, i feel a quite distinct benefit right away with DMSO/Mg so i'm gonna try and push this angle for a while next i think potassium was definitely part of it, hydration, general salt intake, eliminating artificial sweetners i'm also tinkering with taking fennel now too, as it caught my eye and then i found out that it has some related things as anise and licqorice and i know that licquorice at least can be problematic with the kidneys but it seems fennel has some toxicity to insects and i am certain i have microscopic insect or other similar arthropod (mites) problems too, and in general, parasites, probably are involved i need to try and get some ivermectin this is something you may understand the fact that ivermectin has such a strong effect on stopping these novel rhinovirus infections suggests that the viruses are depending on common parasites for their mechanism, which means that parasitic infections being eliminated can stop symptoms i know i have eliminated much of the causes but i'm still on the back foot i will of course be reporting if this DMSO/MSM regime helps a bit further, i strongly suspect it will possibly the fennel will help, i did a little research on it out of curiosity today and it has had certain specific attributed benefits in many ancient medical systems that probably relate to muscles, oddly enough, and probably also kidneys
well, i can tell you that potassium and boron are two major important minerals potassium in general is part of the health of the kidneys, and also has an effect in the CNS of hypertension when in deficiency... the plain KCl salt is helpful, but foods also, bananas are a big one, and coconut milk also boron is a mineral that may be lacking for whatever reasons, it is relatively common in most vegetable and fruit flesh and boron is notable for in deficiency in plants it cause a dramatic reduction in growth of the size of everything https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boron_deficiency_%28plant_disorder%29 in humans, supposedly there is very little science but my aunty put me onto it and she said it helped her dramatically with her post menopausal symptoms, and probably if my mother had been told about it, would have helped her too, she also had osteoporosis, and yes, magnesium and calcium deficiency cause this, and if there is boron deficiency, it causes elimination of Ca/Mg and that contributes to this this is part of the cramping problem as well, because Mg is heavily required for muscle relaxation, and lack of Mg also has a huge impact of causing anxiety and irritability i have been addressing these with these measures but that's the thing, it's not all of the picture, there seems to be something else missing from the treatment that's why i have looked at MSM/DMSO, and i haven't fully explored it yet and i have started to eat bananas regularly, and i can definitely say that that, plus potassium salts, have helped a lot i probably just need to get a big sack of KCl and be done with it, that seems to be the major limiter in this, so, yeah kidney health and potassium, and hypertension, if she is suffering this pair of symptoms at the same time, it's possible that it is related in some way to potassium there must be surely some other factor in this, like, something that either triggers K elimination or blocks its absorption i'm glad i have an ally in researching this, i'm going to look deeper into more complex causes of K deficiency now, because i think it's the main problem

Lots of eye contact, happy tail, fully interacting with us, regained bladder control (👀), holding toys in her mouth, and just being her loving, joyous self again. https://v.nostr.build/wmw29S64QttU2c9g.mp4 I was desperately hoping for this. When she was in mindless robot dog mode, it was horrible to think that the real Kuma might be lost to us forever. It's just a momentary reprieve but at least we have her truly back for at least a little while. Getting the chance to really appreciate her is such a gift. Every moment beyond this point is a bonus win. https://i.nostr.build/4RHsfaRtAi5sY3JN.jpg Her very positive response to the prednisone has given the neurologist and radiation therapist enough optimism that we all agree it makes sense to go ahead with radiation therapy. A directed beam zaps the tumor and hopefully kills a big chunk of it to buy her more time. Successful treatment yields prognosis estimates from 6-18mo to 18-24mo (depends on the tumor type, which we don't actually know). But it can't get all of the tumor so eventually it re-establishes itself. It's NOT a cure but getting that much extra time with her would be the best possible outcome given the bad cards we've been dealt. https://i.nostr.build/VxhYCJ5VZnFYXIbn.jpg Next steps: Another expensive MRI+CT scan next week to plan for the even more expensive radiation therapy (so far her pet insurance is coming through for us. 🤞). Then it's 10 anesthesia+radiation zap sessions over 2.5wks. Success obv isn't guaranteed. We'll have a sense if it was effective about 8wks later. But unfortunately many dogs succumb to their tumors before that point is reached; time just runs out on them. But we're happy to give her that fighting chance. https://i.nostr.build/1WDIGxOUoNOc4SPC.jpg ❤️❤️ Also: ❤️❤️ The pics here all feature gifts she received as part of a cancer care box from LiveLikeRoo.org - the stuffed animals, the blanket, the treats, a ball, a gift certificate, and a (😢) bucket list of fun activity suggestions. Incredible, wonderful organization that's dedicated to helping families whose pets have cancer. Very niche and, yes, there are certainly bigger tragedies out there, but their warmth right now is an incredible boon. They're also facilitating some local experiences for us (doggy photo shoot; an indoor pool just for dogs! etc). I'll be sharing more about them in the future. #dogstr nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzqkcw3kn0m7axvvpcdy9n05skmq695c3ucvlpzxhapaeca4me90z5qyd8wumn8ghj7ur4wfshv6tyvyhxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qgkwaehxw309ajkgetw9ehx7um5wghxcctwvshszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7qpqcpalyamz96ew4qeh7z6mqq5s2ym65h8nm7lvnkm6rheu5fneppgsr49a79

LiveLikeRoo is also sending her a steak dinner next week! And we still have the doggie pool swim and photo shoot coming up. I'm definitely going to have to send them a donation for all they've done. The more families they can support, the better.
