Watched Escape from LA (1996), a sci fi action movie directed by John Carpenter. This is the sequel to Escape from New York (1981). In a dystopian future, Snake now has to infiltrate the island of LA, after it breaks from the mainland, following an earthquake. He has to retrieve a device from the president’s daughter. This device can basically turn any satellite into a remote controlled EMP. The special effects were extremely dated. At one point the main character walks into a painting of a dystopian city. The acting was terrible. Story and premise made no sense. It could have been funny if it didn’t take itself so seriously. The first one was way better, which isn’t saying a lot since it wasn’t very good. 4.5/10 #nodereviews
Prometheus and Covenant are masterpieces. Agreed. Started watching Carpenter’s movies and wanted to finish them all. So far I’m not impressed. In the mouth of madness and They Live were pretty good
It was definitely better than this 🤣 Started vampires. It reminds me of from dusk till dawn but worse
Big letdown. I didn’t get why the cast was so young. It’s like they wanted to appeal to a younger crowd. It’s always cool to see the monsters but they definitely could have done better. There’s alien earth (tv show) coming out later this summer. It probably won’t be as good as Prometheus and covenant but I always enjoy that universe.
