This is the case for a T-Beam v1.1 915 MHz radio that I'm using as an #RNode with #Reticulum. That radio is available most of the time at about 40 bucks and they seem to get the job done just fine. They also work well with #Meshtastic and have GPS built in.
Nope. Just saw a similar question on the Reticulum matrix chat. They're different protocols, so can't run both simultaneously. Reticulum can handle data like file transfers, etc. Even SSH-like connections to the connected device. Meshtastic is just messages and small amounts of data. The details are beyond my current level of knowledge, but Mark from unsigned.io is in that chat and very helpful.
