Watched the straight story (1999), directed by David Lynch. Based on a true story. The main character is an elderly man with failing health. He embarks on a journey across Iowa and Wisconsin on his lawnmower to make peace with his estranged brother who just suffered a stroke. The movie addresses themes of family, resilience and forgiveness. I enjoyed this one more than Wild at Heart and Blue Velvet. More down to earth 6.9/10 #nodereviews
Check the hashtag, if you want. I’m going through Lynch’s movie catalog right now. I did Darren Aronofsky, David Cronenberg and Claire Denis previously.
Then again you said wholesome…These directors are not known for wholesome movies. Chocolat (1988) directed by Claire Denis would be the closest to wholesome.
