what's your favorite way to buy physical gold #askNostr?
Laeserin @Laeserin - 4d
Nice try, Fed.
lol. but it's honestly frustrating that I can get the world's best Bitcoin information from nostr and podcasts, but it's really hard to separate signal from noise wrt gold (and there is a lot of noise. especially since you can't personally verify)
yea physical. like not paper. Ya'know. like self-custody bitcoin vs the shit the banks are trying to get you to buy.
😆🤔😐😥
thanks for the tips lol
coins are relatively easy to get (and verify) but it kind of bugs me that I'm probably paying a collector premium

Just buy with cash dollars.
A lot of really cool ones have a rather small collector premium. Liberty 5 and 10 dollar coins from the 1800s are pretty badass and the going market premium is barely anything. It's like getting bullion but it's a piece of monetary history, the same gold atoms in the same configuration as when it was minted and circulated.
yep agreed there. thanks
I have a jewler acquaintance who I was thinking of asking but I wasn't sure if there's some etiquette I'm not aware of where you don't try to buy gold from jewler friends.
yea: holding onto it as it rips and then turning it into bitcoin. that's the industry
I don't want to wear it. I want to ride it to the top of its fiat price and flip it into bitcoin. real money
it's a bet/hedge on the US (government and citizens) and the world keying into gold before they realize they actually need bitcoin and stacking more corn for myself as a result of their slower adoption (of Bitcoin, but rapid adoption of gold)
