Watched Santa Sangre (1989), a psychological horror movie directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky. The protagonist was a circus performer. He’s broken, traumatized by his childhood. He manages to escape the asylum and joins forces with his amputee mother, who is also a cult leader. He commits brutal murders on her behalf. He becomes her “arms” in a delusional journey of madness and religion. The film is visually striking. I really enjoyed this one. The story is excellent. Insane plot. It manages to surprise the viewer multiple times. It’s very provocative. The casting is excellent. Particularly all the circus performers. 8/10 #nodereviewsi
