e-cash almost started to happen in the 90s and then Musk and friends made Paypal it is only relevant now because there is an actual pure digital currency behind it that you don't have to trust a bank to administer e-cash without bitcoin cannot work without the blessing of the bankster cartel, that's why it took so long for it to actually find a use case the rest of the shitcoins are either fast enough and run on $50k+ servers to handle their enormous chain data or there just isn't enough users to cause congestion with on chain payments e-cash is custodial, also, inherently custodial... the mint can disappear or refuse to redeem the tokens, it's main benefit is that transfer can be asynchronous

also applies to lightning, which uses source routing, a network routing protocol type that has usually not been successful throughout the history of network routing, but it does fail in the same ways same with new, regarding #rust - they are fixing 30 year old problems that are solved by GC as you see with Java and Go (stack smashing and buffer overflow, memory access violations) and Java is generally just slightly slower than C++ and rust despite being a VM execution engine, java is very widely used, probably the most used language for network servers now, in fact, and it uses a concurrent mark and sweep GC by default just like Go, which is only a little bit slower because the compiler is almost 20 years less mature

The iterators in go are minimal,but the for statement is extremely flexible, they even made it possible to make a simple count up by using range with an integer, constant or variable Sorting is also really easy withthesort.interfaceandthere is also a new variant where you only have to specify the Less function.
