Starter packs like an interest picker while onboarding? For example I like crochet, I start with a feed that follows #crochet Instead of finding that I follow you and Jack Dorsey. 😅 Or is starter pack something different?
Yeah, but why would my friend have the same interest as me. Also, why depend on me curating a list… I suck 🤣 I’ve been on nostr for 2 years… if you ask me to create a list of people it would be disappointing.
Start new accounts with 0 follows except for themselves. Give them hashtag follows of something they are interesting in and you are done. Most hashtags have interesting posts. And it’s a Damus Super feature that doesn’t exist in other clients. (It does, but it’s a separate feed).

As for spam I think it also depends on relays used. Haven't seen much spam even in global feed using filter.nostr.wine
The only downside is some events missing, but as I understand, it is more of Amethyst issue due to not using outbox model
