Here is an introduction about me!
My name is Signe, I am co-skipper of Vela 💙
Before 2016 I hadn’t really been sailing much and I definitely would NOT call myself a sailor.
I grew up in a small fishing village, Skærbæk, with my mom, dad and 3 older brothers.
My dad tried many times to get me and my brothers inspired to do some kind of sailing, but without any luck.. Until! Long story short, he made his dream come true and he bought a boat in Norway and made it all the way to the Canary Islands and it was around here where I saw my shot for a ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE! We crossed the Atlantic and then I was hooked! 🪝
I got back to Denmark a few months later, joined the Royal Danish Navy, stayed for a bit, met the sweetest little sailor and here we are! 😎
