On nostr relaying RSS data: Some say "with nostr we don't *need* RSS. Maybe, but we already have RSS. There are over 4.3 million feeds in the Podcast Index. As a nostr dev, do you convince 4.3 million feeds to republish their data in nostr format? Or do you grab 4.3 million RSS feeds, build a web of trust within them based on what you want, and relay those without any other work needed to be done by the publisher? I know what I'd pick.
Most relays wouldn't want to relay all 4.3 million, they'd want to relay the "good stuff" but everyone has a different definition of "good" Enter the "web of trust": I only follow accounts I'm interested in hearing from, that's my web of trust.
Yeah a web of trust is essentially just a group of nostr identities that I have expressed interest in by following them. They can prove it's "really them" by signing events with their private key. I can even be reasonably trusting of my followers' followers, that's a layer deeper in the web. If you're interested, the Wiki on Web of trust goes into far more detail: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_of_trust
nostr works in a similar manner because every event is signed by the poster's nostr key. It doesn't necessarily have to be PGP, that's just where the WoT idea originated.

We better save everyone’s Anchor feeds🤣
yeah, the way I've understood it from many conversations with nostr:npub1ye5ptcxfyyxl5vjvdjar2ua3f0hynkjzpx552mu5snj3qmx5pzjscpknpr, these nostr networks represent a newer, organic, distributed "trustless" web of trust we each build out on our own
