Statistical surprise of the day is that only 14% of German men under 50 say they would refuse to fight for Germany. An astonishing 61% have said they are ready to fight. That matches the general impression I have, from speaking with German men, with men under 25 being the most-martial. And it's mostly socialists refusing: the Left Party, the Green Party, and BSW from Sahra Wagenknecht. The most martial are the FDP -- whose leader, Christian Lindner, is a reserve officer -- with 74%, and the AfD with 61%. (21% of women would be willing to fight, but we have no further details, as to what else is ailing them.) It's focused on defending German territory, of course. It's a study done annually, since the 90s, by a private statistical service for the military, and you can see how the Russian invasion caused defense-willingness to rise.
