Watched Eddington (2025), a western/satire comedy directed by Ari Aster. It is set in a small New Mexico town in March 2020. The story follows the asthmatic sheriff who opposes the mask mandate and is running for mayor against the liberal mayor who put in place all the current restrictions. This leads to great division in town. Conspiracy theories, activism, internet hysteria all overtake the small town. The film has it all: satire, psychological drama, the absurd. It’s a critique of both ends of the political spectrum. I really enjoyed this one. The cast is phenomenal. Joaquim Phoenix’s performance as the sheriff is stellar. Pedro Pascal as the mayor and Emma Stone as the sheriff’s wife were excellent. The absurd and satirical parts were very funny. The score was really good. The sceneries of New Mexico were beautiful. The switch to action/western was well executed. My only criticism of the film is that it wasn’t a horror movie. Ari Aster’s first 3 feature films were excellent horror movies 😂 8.6/10
Forgot the hashtag 🤣 #nodereviews
My favourite director. He only did horror movies before so I was surprised he did a satire/western. Glad I saw it. So good. He was able to capture the insanity of it all
I think you’ll enjoy this one
At the movie theatre
I guess it should be available in good quality torrents in about 5 to 8 weeks. Maybe less

You should start tagging your notes with a hashtag… I bet there’s a client in here somewhere
Use a more general hashtag like #reviewstr so that others can do the same and we’ll have a unified place for reviews

This way we can easily filter for reviews like I do on Kinostr
I see your point. Needs a more general one for that
Yeah, I got that. Only downside is the eyesore factor
Ah for something more general ai see what you mean
If you added another tag it woke be easier for people to contribute too. But it would need something else like an IMDb url. Or we could make a custom kind.
People would find it with the IMDb url?
But If we build a dedicated client url would help. But at that point we can make a custom kind I guess
Does that mean that the review would only show in clients that implement the new kind?
You had troubles with Hereditary? That’s the masterpiece
I understand. Horror movies aren’t your cup of tea. What did your partner think of it? Eddington is really worth it 🤝
Interesting. What’s your favourite horror movie?
