Sometimes I get tempted to buy a book or movie from the Google Play Store than I remember what happened to g+ and Google Music and decide against it.

i am in internet shieeet for more than 25yrs and frankly there is not much services that are in the same shape for more than 10 yrs... world is changing, crisis can reshape internet... that is why literally you always have to TRUST NO ONE. For example i store my photos in cloud services for ages with additional backups BUT ... for 2 years i am printing selected photos because i dont trust that they will survive more 10 yrs... covid > russians > aliens ;) but... i also started again buying paper books ... only those GOOD ones... because still i dont trust that in 20 years book content online will remain intact and AI will not change content or fix. Look at James Bond movies how they modify content now. Look at books how they fix stuff for political correctnes... Next 10 yrs are last 10 yrs with content not fixed by AI. You ain't wrong! Started making it a habit of buying DVDs and and books from second hand stores now. Especially when you can get so much content for so little money. Got my hands on a nice little printer for images too. I've gotten a bit too comfortable with my image collection on the cloud. Better to print them and hang them up than let them sit in someone else's computer. Wouldn't be surprised if we end up in a world where people will pay crazy prices for second hand media to grab the ' unedited' copy of movie, book, or song that will no longer be allowed on mainstream stores.
