I live close to my in-laws so I let them buy (and store) all the toys. Our house doesn’t have nearly as many toys as the grandparents. It helped keep things sane over here and not totally chaotic. I also make my kids clean up after their mess - it works about 50% of the time. Best advice I can give new parents: don’t buy the thing you think you’ll need. Just don’t buy it.
