it was very nice to get a giant zap for coming back but i'm still really salty about nostr and about semisol's using my code without giving me credit i only have a little bit of work to complete the proximity/sequence based full text search on #realy but i'm feeling really cranky about the whole situation and i know i gotta finish it but i gotta cool the fire in the boiler so i can actually do some work at this point gonna finish the damn thing but i'm still super salty about this, despite my gratitude for the help i've been given to keep this work up, y'alls are gonna just have to wear it that i am not being given enough compensation to complete realy beyond finishing this full text search, and as soon as i finish that, realy is in a feature freeze and will only have bugfixes when someone actually uses it and reports bugs to me so i'm gonna finish the fulltext search today, and then make sure it's actually working, and from here on i am 100% on my work to replace the nostr nip-01 protocol with something far simpler and more sane and only using http not this retardo fucking websockets joke that makes auth so freakin complicated nothing has changed in nostr, since i first started bangin on about the problem of auth, and since spending 18 months figuring out how to build a good relay, i learned a lot of things about why and how nostr's design is fucked up this will be fixed and i anticipate i will have the new protocol relay built before the end of next month on a much slimmer, more efficient codebase, and i'm gonna try to get its first commercial application in the next months following that, replacing an onchain forum and matrix based chat i'm gonna have to learn to write at least basic javascript to integrate wasm modules out of my code so front end can just dive straight in and use it also, fortunately that's not gonna be a big surface area to cover

yeah, i'm super salty about semisol just out and saying he's ripping my stuff off without even making any mention of giving me something for my part in his production process but fuck it, that rage will fuel this fire to continue to build things better
indeed, it's not possible to stop evil uses of technology in this case it is just a pathetic, stingy narcissism that doesn't want to give credit to others for reuse. fuck that guy tho. he's on my shitlist from here on, and it makes me mad that others who i otherwise respect aren't seeing the problem, as petty as it is, i have to work at building other people's shit on a daily basis so i can have this free time to do this stuff that they are ripping off. i'm just gonna finish the job of building this language agnostic full text search engine, and idgaf who uses it, because i'm gonna be too busy building a total re-imagining of the nostr protocol that will be far more accessible to regular web devs and easily deployed in commercial settings and a lot more money than i was denied will come to me as a consultant my pay grade is going to go up, no matter what, because the more i learn, the more powerful the tech i can build
CC0 of course he is free to do whatever he likes but it's just not very polite to brag about using it without crediting me i don't even believe in copyright anyway it just made me mad that this guy has any respect from people who i respect after saying something like that he just thinks he's better than me and no matter that i've written something he couldn't he won't even at minimum name me as a contributor. no licence is going to change that. who am i gonna complain to? what would they do even if i did? something something "you made it free to copy and he's not patenting it" yeah, good luck with earning some reputation of such a cunt act
for me, the only concern is the use of state power to oppress me via a patent claim, you can't patent public domain semisol is in business building and running nostr relays, and i suppose his margins are thin and he's seizing on my work to lever his profits up but it's just rude, really. anyhow, anyone who thinks he has friends is just deluded. that was me, until 3 days ago. if it wasn't tragic it would be comical
you assume that i'm trying to achieve something i already wrote him off as a competent social being a long time ago, he was on my mute list for a long time i got so tired of his endless complaining no, i don't care i'm just venting steam because it's such a blatant abuse of friendship
i did that work in my spare time for the love of freedom if you like, my stink is about the fact he doesn't care about it
