This is the logical consequence of the fact of personal responsibility, scarcity, and uncertainty. Our duty is to ourselves, our lives, individually. Nietzsche might have ranted about this quite a bit, but this is not a solely Nietzschean concept. It's just the truth.

Yeah that claim is retarded and wrong. Worshipping the self is idiotic. Working for the self is good. I am not God. I just am. And I like to have fun. Worshipping yourself is mystic solipsistic bullshit.
Nietzsche was ironically a weak man in my opinion.
Strong in some ways though. We've all got strengths and weaknesses but that was my main takeaway from him. A lot of genius and a lot of insight with a lot of presumption and freaking the fuck out. Dude needed to get laid.
