On my second rewatch of Startrek DS9 and I definitely feel that the Cardassians are the British Empire. Watching the episode when Dukat is in the cave with Sisko out of his mind and he's basically describing British policy in Ireland after the famine ie 'killing home rule with kindness' #[0] #[1]
