It's absolutely wild that you can't use YouTube with a VPN IP while not signed in. Internet is getting completely unusable. I rather not use YouTube than turn off VPN or god forbid, create a Google account. Note: this applies as well to all other FOSS youtube apps and frontends like LibreTube, NewPipe, yt-dlp. They also get broken.
I read on the mullvad subreddit that US servers don't seem to have this issue. It's still a PITA for those affected. If I have to switch to a US server, the latency is so high, I might as well just use Tor 🤣
