Cashu is probably better for the masses though, rather than full blown self custody lightning node
They're NGMI. You have to connect with people on nostr to make it work for you, or be curious enough to give it a shot regardless.
But yeah the onboarding stuff I've seen is still very patchy at best.

The ux for cashu still needs work. Nwc, lightning addresses, lnurl simplifies lightning usage. Probably a nwc for cashu would go a long way. The cashu in emoji had the right idea/direction

You cannot onboard the whole world to self custody lightning with the way it works right now, there is not enough timechain space to keep making channels at the rate of births, if I am not mistaken. You need an additional scaling solution. Cashu mints are one such solution.

No, but they physically cannot all show up with each their own dedicated channels, ever, unless some major changes are made to Bitcoin technicals.
