We DO have a very nice spring in California this year. It's what happens with proper rain, timed right. I've seen it in 2011, 2017, 2019, and now 2023. Given this frequency, either "super" happens quite often, or isn't that super. I've come to reject the label "superbloom". It creates a hype and makes people, especially the self-absorbed Instagrammers & TikTok'ers, go nuts and trample all over the precious flowers. Enjoy the spring. Don't trample the flowers. #[0] #[1] #[2]

#[0] I saw one article locally with the main image (below) of a young child running wild in the middle of the poppy bloom… SMH! (Note, not my pic. Not my child!)
