An Obsidian tutorial a day, keeps Notion away

You need that synced cross device, while bypassing Obsidian cloud thingy, with your own pgp key. Mhmmmmm 🤤
Planning on doing that, I’ve seen that there is an add-on that lets you sync using Git. For now, I’m half way migrating my knowledge base from Notion to Obisidian. I’m learning a lot in the process.

Can easily sync using Syncthing as well. This is how I use Obsidian.
Sounds like a wonderful idea ! Do you any tutorial for that ?
I used got crypt and wrote it up once it's somewhere. Not sure if it's the way to go but I like customizations so (this route also relies on one of the plugins, but there may be yet newer better way ill check sometime....better as in faster encrypt decrypt in case of any imagery etc)
Git crypt* which maybe not ideal or something (it does work magically so I left it)
Not really a tutorial man due to lazyness but I took notes for myself lol https://dev.to/snazzybytes/obsidian-notes-with-git-crypt-376m
https://github.com/snazzybytes/obsidian-scripts/blob/master/README.md#obsidian-notes-with-git-crypt
But I used android, termux, widget for it... and that #bullshit 🤣 ✊ https://github.com/snazzybytes/obsidian-scripts/tree/master/android
Oh shit, it's nothing but it helped people and has 10 stars 🤣 🍻 fair enough someone new to tech I know how it is
Despite encryption I don't put PII data on there. Just creative notes of you know notes just notes ✊
Thanks man 🫂💜
Eyy anytime. Wish I had more. Will try in future months years ahead lol
Chris Titus Tech is good. Once you have syncthing going, just store your Obsidian vault in a shared folder. https://youtu.be/dBVTedUWbfg?si=0ahLzEjIOOzQtRAP
This guy is specific for Obsidian. https://youtu.be/t3cy132eeUU?si=SNgl3czdwWSSJrIT
Thanks 🫂💜
If you making the parallel with Notion, that has a browser extension for that. I don’t know if Obsidian has something like that. For me, for links : - I will either create a simple link manually or a rich link with preview (there is an add-on for that) I use Obsidian for almost everything: - Project planning (Kanban, Calendars, Advanced tables,…) - Writing summaries about things I’m learning. - Personal check-lists, etc…
