Just watched Possessor (2020), directed by David’s son, Brandon Cronenberg. It’s about an elite assassin who uses brain implants to inhabit other people in order to assassinate people. Excellent movie. Body horror and sci fi are very present. Like in his father’s movies. It explores themes of losing the self and splitting identities. Second time watching this. Still as good as the first time. 8.2/10 #nodereviews

That’s the scary part. Extremely realistic in that universe. One thing I really appreciate about David is that he never makes sequels. Make a good movie and then leave it at that. If I want to see that same universe again, I can rewatch the movie
Hopefully it’s the same with Brandon. I think it is. He made a second movie 2 years later. Infinity Pool. Has nothing to do with this one

Sequels make sense for stuff like Alien or other horror movies where you can easily repeat the concept I find. Doesn’t surprise me that it didn’t do that well. Really good movie with a messed up universe and extremely violent. Not a Disney 😂
I know what you mean. I watched Terrifier and all the sequels not that long ago. Was really enjoyable
I think the first one I saw was the third one. I was surprised by the Halloween costumes when I saw 1 and 2
