The problems of society are the problems of *Society*. Just like the problems of an orchard (pests, disease, weedy competitors) result from the trees being in an Orchard instead of being members of a forest. Without constant intervention the orchard will be replaced by the forest. Given our technology changes precipitating the hollowing out of the dependence within communities, the natural human bonds formed through communal activities, and survival, and the natural deviation and reversion to the norms of the community are losing their limiting principles by losing their single frame of reference within a single community. The whole is fracturing back into the parts. The result will either require a more heavy handed gardener to enforce order over the whole or the embrace of the forest overtaking the orchard. But the interventions of the gardener always makes the orchard more dependent on the intervention. So in the end there is only one outcome. #grownostr #permaculture #philosophy #politics.
