“notes” is a far better label than “posts”. and more unique to #nostr

“Events” is also a good naming convention. For a protocol being worked on by so many different teams, it’s being constructed very thoughtfully

Notes for short form, but posts for long form.

Posting a note sounds like you are writing a note on a Post-It
Ryan @Ryan - 2y
Postin' notes
80ba3 - 2y
I can write notes without posting them, though. "Post" is a better description of something that has been shared online.

Post is the verb, note is the noun Stay humble, post notes

Notes capture essence, lasting treasure; posts fleeting, shallow pleasure.

Eh, I don't like "notes". Too ambiguous with actual note taking

Jack just sent you a request to interview you re:NOSTR in the DMs I cover Bitcoin etc for Politico Wrote about Nostr in January https://www.politico.com/newsletters/digital-future-daily/2023/01/03/the-year-of-web3-social-media-maybe-00076220
We can interview in the replies, not the DMs. Open interview.

Great idea. First Qs that come to mind How does Nostr user experience compare with Twitter? What client(s) do you use? From what I’ve seen, current user base is highly concentrated among Bitcoiners. Thoughts on implications this has for user experience and network growth? What do you think of Twitter blocking Substack links? Is Block building on/for NOSTR?

welcome to nostr 🤙
1. How does Nostr user experience compare with Twitter? It’s both at parity and far more advanced. Zaps are far more advanced and a leapfrogging. As is logging in with a key pair. As is autopilot relay model in some clients. 2. What client(s) do you use? Primarily Damus for iOS, gossip for desktop, and a variety of web clients (snort and coracle). 3. From what I’ve seen, current user base is highly concentrated among Bitcoiners. Thoughts on implications this has for user experience and network growth? Bitcoiners tend to be pretty principled and focused on building tools to enable more self sovereignty, so I think it will turn out very well for individuals. But like Twitter, I think there are many other niches you aren’t seeing yet because you aren’t on those relays. 4. What do you think of Twitter blocking Substack links? I don’t believe Twitter should block any links. Is this true? 5. Is Block building on/for NOSTR? Yes.

Hey Ben, question for you! :) what’s the reason behind defining Nostr as web3 social media based on your article in the link shared ?
45b5c - 2y
I want to interview too, if is that simple: If you are pro UBI and bitcoin community to have this solidarity because tax probably wont exist when bitcoin leads. This only question #[3]
9ca0b - 2y
What are 'those relays'? I wanna see the niche relays. Would be great to see a relay directory searchable by keywords/topics/niches.
Btw Ben, Nostr is not Web3. Web3 is a marketing term for shill-a-coin valley VCs to dump useless premined tokens onto the public. Web 2 = you are the product. Web3 = you are the exit liquidity. Nostr is more like the p2p web, going back to when things were not controlled by surveillance capitalists. Bitcoiners are allergic to the term web3 because it is corrupted by perverse ponzi incentives.

Do you understand that humans have never before been incentivized to find new and better ways to harvest unused energy in remote locations like they are with Bitcoin? This is an important aspect of bitcoin that will revolutionize the world and the MSM always seems to ignore it.
I think it’s easier to cover if it’s actually happening. I know they’ve started doing it with excess methane but are they actually doing it with stranded hydro out in the middle of nowhere and that sort of thing yet?
