#asknostr any ideas why the android signer #amber needs relays? Its a signer for other apps, for what purpuse would I add relays to it? Also this persistent notification makes me think it might be a battery drainer :)

First time using #coracle and #amber on the new phone. Had to install xapo with google and the thing went spaz until it got location. Pfft... Anyway, it's a no radios device now. Got my coracle and need osmand and done. I guess at a pinch I may sometimes use the wifi but only wifi and never 4G... It's not got 5G either anyway.

Okay, so first thing is to make sure you're on the latest #Amethyst and #Amber versions. Amber has to be uninstalled and reinstalled if you're on 1.3.7 or older. Backup your keys first. Then get in another client. I use 0xChat. I know that works. https://github.com/0xchat-app/0xchat-app-main Find some butthole and block them in 0xChat. Plenty of bots, etc. in DMs for that. Go back to Amethyst and everything should be working. You may have to re-block them all again. Don't "report" things until you know it's all clear. I'll be testing that. It may already be fixed, even, and I just haven't proven it out. There's some issue with the encryption on the mute list event when you do it with the report event and it borks the list, making you unable to change it. I have literally spent months chasing that.

Every time I switch away from #amethyst version 0.90.3 the #tor settings are reset to off and I'm back in #clearnet. I've nuked the #android storage and setup again. Also tried logging in with and without #Amber. Is this happening to anyone else?

Okay, begging for help here. Apparently, something went wrong with the NIP04 encryption on this kind 10000 mute list. Ever since then I get app crashes from #Amethyst and #Amber when the NIP04 decryption request comes in for my mute list. How do I get rid of the messed up event? I'm sending your test note some test zaps signed by Amber. 🤑 It's the only thing that doesn't work seamlessly for me. I've been fighting this off and on. They're going through now, but it doesn't look like it on my end. I have nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm Nostr wallet connect set up and the event pops up in #Amber for signing, but the animation hangs about 75% around and then disappears. At one point it was opening up an invoice in nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 to pay, then randomly quit that. Took me a while, I know, but I was on vacation 😅: finally using #Amber to log in with #Amethyst and I really like this idea and hope it catches on! To use a phrase I saw a lot this weekend, "Kink requires consent" 🤣 and I like all these pop ups asking to to accept responsibility for my actions 💜

In theory one would have stored ones key only in #amber and every other app communicates with Amber to access it. But at the moment I've only seen Amethyst using a Amber feature that let's an App - even a web app - access Amber on Android. That feature is not even defined in NIP-46, whereas the communication setup using a QR code or ULR over a relay is not available at the moment. That would be useful for web apps in desktop browsers.

If you try #amethyst 's new #amber login method, make sure you tick "I agree" before clicking "log in with Amber". I've noticed if you do it out of order thinks get very wonky
