Is there an event, with which a client can publish which #NIPs (and soon, #NUDs) it supports? #asknostr #devs
Laeserin @Laeserin - 13d
Many of the client #devs would be better analysts/designers/testers/sysadmins than "devs", but clout on here only goes to devs, so we're ending up with a gazillion half-finished, buggy projects nobody uses, and that get quickly abandoned, and the better stuff doesn't get enough traffic because everyone who could provide actionable feedback is off tinkering. There's almost nobody to do the technical stuff that isn't as glamorous but is the difference between being permanently stuck in scriptkiddie hell or having production-ready systems. More appreciation for non-dev roles, please. For starters, stop asking people "... and what did you build?", like nobody has a right to speak on development topics unless they've hacked together some bullshit microblogger nobody will ever use. That isn't even proof that they could pass CompSci 101, ffs. /rant

When the feed is full of adminitions to go to GitHub and write issues and you really really hate GitHub, but you go there and write issues and you're the only one writing issues or the issues are being ignored by the #devs.

Most of us #devs aren't anon and that's why this is going to work.

Production-level software projects do not have downtime. They are not the corner store. They're digital infrastructure. #devs you can rest, when you are dead.
For two days, now, I've been seeing months-old notes in the right-hand trending frame on #Primal Web. And Primal Android didn't write, then I redid the relays, then it wrote once, and then it didn't write again. https://i.nostr.build/QIfh3sJR6NTWTOa9.png #Nostr #devs

Honestly I'm not sure what I should enter in minibits in this area. I and i think also a mass more of people (Maybe X and Telegram refugees) would appreciate when there would be easier tutorials for all the great stuff and possibilities which the great #Devs integrated in their apps. I think this is needed to onboard more and more normies too.

#Nostriga #Hornet-Storage HOLY! This looks amazing as all fark too. Some other screengrabs of the GUI for "Nestr" - a client that seems to do ALOT.. including providing a github style experience to the user over nostr! And yep! It's done by Colby Serpa and an amazing team from the sounds. (Sorry too crap to remember all their names from the livestream but please give him a follow as this looks awesome!) nostr:npub1t89vhkp66hz54kga4n635jwqdc977uc2crnuyddx7maznwfrpupqwra5h9 https://i.nostr.build/bkjTVfyzgsabuMfe.png https://i.nostr.build/zniSLdHSw23OtqK8.png https://i.nostr.build/PE4398yZKTSxBZlf.png https://www.hornet.storage/ #nostr #grownostr #devs

Unpopular opinion: Treating Nostr as a collection of "Nostr" clients that talk to each other, rather than a communication protocol that allows any clients to talk to each other, is holding back adoption because you are trying to force users to immediately change interfaces and workflows, instead of just co-opting the data transfers on the backend. If you get people moving their data over Nostr, then you can create new Nostr-native clients to handle that data in some novel way, to add value. Don't put the cart before the horse. Get the data first. Integrate, then build. #devs #Nostr

Does anyone use NostrSync Database? #Nostr #devs https://nostrsync.live/nostrdb/index.html
Too many Nostr #devs are skipping over the essential step of identifying actors and use cases / user stories, and discussing the specific models, objects, and environment of the application domain. And it shows. You are programming past the users.
The number of independent Nostr #devs is quickly approaching zero. Almost everyone works for the same corporation. Just saying.
