The last workout of my speed training series is a more βadvancedβ session. You can also use it to benchmark your speed improvement. Fast mile x 2: run 1 mile as fast as you can, rest 3 minutes, and run a second mile as fast as you can. #speedtraining #running https://i.nostr.build/5GaZB.jpg
Here is another option for speed training: Farklet Runs. You run 3 minutes at a fast pace, whatever that is for you, and then 1 minute at a recovering pace. And repeat X times. The difference with stride repeats is that here you run slower for a longer time. Start with X = 1 and increase weekly. Once a week I focus my running on speed training. One option is stride repeats. You can increase the intensity gradually by starting with 4 repeats, then 6 the following week, all the way to 12. You can monitor your cadence with a smart watch like Garmin or just βrun as fast as you canβ. NOTEWORTHY NEWS: 40 year old Jasmin Paris becomes first female to finish the Barkley, a gruelling 100 mile marathon in Tennessee with over 60000 feet of climb.
