Yesterday, I was called a “jack of all trades, master of none” because I listed six or seven primary programming languages I developed software solutions with in 20 years. I was kinda baffled by the remark. Over time there’s less and less engineers that are “married to a single language” in our fast-moving industry. IMO an engineer also cannot be defined just by their tools only. Do you agree with the statement? If not, how do you react to this? #[0] #[1]

#[0] That's like a mathematician being labeled a Jack of all trades because they know more than one equation. What bollocks. Whoever said that clearly knows nothing about software engineering and doesn't know the difference between that and web design, where the only actual language you usually need to know is JavaScript.
