Has anyone done a proper deep dive into Farcaster? Been hearing more from my normie startup friends that it's getting hugely popular with the Silicon Valley crowd. I know already it's a shitcoin so no need to bang that drum. I'm just curious about what we can learn from it's growth (I'm guessing it's mostly fueled by VC dollars going into marketing).

they only talk about tokens on FC, it's not a venue for general discussion the growth is almost certainly purely because of it being used to hype new shitcoins, and telling stories about how the one in a million who actually didn't become poorer from it "did it" which will be total nonsense but all the desperados will lap it up
can't win corrupted people's interest without offering the sickly sweet juice of corruption
the difference between shitcoiners and bitcoiners eh? weak-ass 2fa? and no self sovereign identity? hard pass
LOLOLOL - sounds like ETH maxis.
yeah, that's gonna scale big enough to dislodge... um... hmmm slack? maybe

This sounds like every point boils down to money and incentive aligned people.

Frames is cool man! #hypernotes might be the way do that on Nostr, at least me I'm totally going that direction.
Notes with hypertext. nostr:npub1p4kg8zxukpym3h20erfa3samj00rm2gt4q5wfuyu3tg0x3jg3gesvncxf8 came up with it at #SovEng. https://github.com/futurepaul/hypernote/ If you standardise their size (say 640 by 380 px), I think you can do reeeaaally cool stuff with this.
couldn't we just have markdown and a nostr:neventthingy URL type to do this? (with relay hints pretty pls)

This is all super helpful. The speed of having a single team, plus the VC $$$ to market and hype and airdrop all makes total sense. I'd love to catch up sometime and hear what you're working on related to some of the UI stuff there.
See you at pubkey on the 30th! 🫡

they are just on it for the tokens and the rainbow coin love, idgaf what you say you can't make a POP and SMTP with a crack team of ninja devs with way too much VC money, just read the history of compuserve and AOL et al... where are they now? oh yeah, they got replaced with a protocol that was crappy and simple, sound familiar? short term focus = short term life
